What Makes a Rainbow

Lately I’ve been reading this book What Makes a Rainbow to our Bubby. I found it at a thrift store a few days ago. It is perfect. Of course it talks about how to make a rainbow you need rain and sunshine. And with each new page a ribbon of the new color pops out, slowly making a ribbon rainbow.

But for me of course it has a deeper meaning.

The thought of what it takes to create such a beautiful rainbow.

Ingredient number one… an incredible storm.
Ingredient number two… a burst of unfathomable love.
Ingredient number three… the sacred awe of the bliss you are really enjoying.
Ingredient number four… the extraordinary presence of grief and joy.
Ingredient number five… the warmth of sunshine resting on your face, daring you to live again.
Ingredient number six… knowing you survived the storm.
Ingredient number seven… the memory and deep understanding that you have been forever changed.
