Berry Pickin’

Yup. I love summer and everything that resembles it – with every last drop of sweat and sun it brings.

… :)

This sudden love for summer is new though. It’s odd how I’m drawn to things that remind me of Jenna’s death. Can anyone relate or am I just looney?

Last Saturday me and Bubby went for a little road trip around our area. I decided since I’m getting the Cannon Rebel kit *skips around the living room* and it comes with a tripod I might as well do our family portraits/ pictures… or at least give it a shot. We’ll seeee how that goes.

I never, and I mean never like studio pictures. They just seem so stale… But we have always done them because they are affordable and well, convenient.

That is alllll going to change when my camera comes in *hopefully*! Which by the way, it did. I just missed the UPS guy this evening! Booooooo!

Tomorrow, I hope :)

Anyway we were driving around looking for a nice spot to take pictures.

On the way home I decided since my adventure was a complete flop, and it was SUCH a gorgeous day, we’d take a stroll around the Matt Family Orchard.

This place is amazing, and it’s like 7 minutes from my house!

Right now blueberries and blackberries are in season, so we {I mean I!} grabbed a bucket and started picking. Very Laura Ingalls-ey of me, I know ;)

Most of the blackberries were gone by the time we went, but it was still great! :)

Aren’t the blackberry flowers so pretty??

And this little guy, I couldn’t resist. We were on this country road, and he was just having himself a snack. Him and his buddies were on both sides of the road, it was great.

Self portraits are so much fun! I haven’t tried it with anyone more than just myself yet. And I’m still getting the hang of shooting myself. But it’s so much fun! I’m so happy for you!

We have blackberries that grow in our backyard, but they aren’t ready yet. I’m definintely gonna take a drive out to a berry farm now. Thanks!

I can feel summer just reading your post :) We are (quite gratefully) entering winter here, though Carly may spit if she reads this LOL – Our summers are long, hot and dry, so I welcome winter but so look forward to those early summer days, the heat is just so wonderful :)
How exciting about your new camera! I just got a similar one, and am LOVING using it – I agree, the studio shots are so ‘blah’ Looking forward to seeing your piccies xxx
