Have you read this poem? I came across it this past weekend at a memorial service to remember Nevaeh and all the other children that lost their fight to cancer in the past few years at Texas Children’s.
I thought I would share it here with you. It is probably one of my favorite readings about loss, because it describes so perfectly how you can feel their love all around…
I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stood silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
and my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
it quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
it made me feel complete;
You may have died…but you are not gone
you will always be a part of me.
As long as the sun shines…
the wind blows…
the rain falls…
You will live on inside of me forever
for that is all my heart knows.

Beautiful Fran! Thank you for sharing!
Wow, this is just amazing. I lost my aunt on Sunday after a very long illness and this helped me to feel a bit at peace today.
Thanks you.
How beautiful <3 Thank you so much for sharing Fran!
Such a beautiful poem today! Thank you so much for sharing! I would have added another verse (you know, if I was a poet and could make my thoughts sound as beautiful as those you have posted above… :) about seeing my heavenly daughter in my earthly children around me!

Wow that is beautiful! Tears in my eyes. The phrase about the rain reminded me of the picture of Bubby discovering the rain. Like Jenna was talking just to him at that moment. So special. Thank you!
love it, especially the last stanza. xxxx
