A Glimpse of Today

Giving thanks today for…

1. sunlight in January.

2. celebrating Evelyn’s homecoming with friends+family

3. having beautiful messes throughout the house. Yes, beautiful. One day I will miss them.

4. hearing him call her “peshus” (precious)

5. the proofs arriving yesterday!

I’m settling into this new routine of caring for two littles. I use the word ‘routine’ loosely. I’m forgetting to switch Bubby from diapers to big boy underwear in the mornings and found him taking a step or two back in potty training. Someone told me not to worry too much about it, he will not be wearing diapers at fourteen after all ;)

So, against my normal, worrisome tendencies, I’m not worrying.

I’m absolutely smitten by both our littles. Over Bubby because in the past few weeks I’ve seen him grow up so much. Taking on his ‘big brother’ role with such grace and affection. We wondered if he’d be jealous of the baby, but for now he seems head over heels in love like the rest of us. And over Evelyn because she is such a miracle. It seriously feels like only yesterday I was telling the world about her.
