Boy Mom

bubby collage

I’m pretty sure I’ve said it here before, but when the doctor told us our first rainbow was a boy, I was nervous because I didn’t know if I had what a little boy would need.

But since the day he’s been born, I realized I didn’t need to know a thing. He’d show me. Everyday.

He needs love.

Adventure.

Books.

Hugs.

More love.

Snuggles.

A hand to wipe his tears and nose.

To hold his hand.

Patience.

Trips to the park.

Stay home and paint days.

Bake cookie days.

Trips to the beach days.

And on the sick days, movies and a big comfy couch.

And most of all, precious time.

It wasn’t until reading your post that I had the same nerves (I’m the youngest of 4 girls) and same realization that he’d show me what he needed. Thank you for opening my eyes and heart to a greater appreciation of having my little boy at home.

This is so true, I remember feeling the same when I found out we were having a boy and then another, I was always a girly-girl so wondered how I would do but they definitely show us and I’m a better mom for what I’ve learned from them.

I felt terrified when I found out we were having a boy. I thought I was going to be clueless in regards to his needs. I was so wrong, not a day goes by that he doesn’t teach me something. Boys are different that’s for sure but I love being a boy mom. I love this post Fran!!!
I can’t believe how fast Bubby is getting.

My first born is a boy and will be 13 in August. It has been such a Blessing to be his mother. I was terrified when I found out I was having a boy but… he has truly made the job an easy one.

I remember when he was your son’s age…. Oh the fun we had and the memories we have yet to make.

All, I can say is… it only gets better!

I had the exact same feeling, isnt it odd though? Think about it, I am sure we would have all had the exact same feeling if we found out we were having another (or our 1st) girl. Its because when you identify the gender it just becomes a whole lot more real whereas when its just “a baby” its less of a concern. A psychologist would have a field day with us!
