These were some of the most fun things to make EVER. I am obsessed with glitter, even though it has been named the herpes of crafts. I think you can never have enough. I had these cheaper square canvases lying around and had no idea what to do with them.
And then this idea popped into my head!
And then I thought, what if we did one with Evie’s footprint?! So we did.
It was awesome. I have no idea where we’re going to hang these yet (which is why there is this photo of them on our front porch…) but they were still so much fun to make!
WHAT YOU NEED:
+ modge podge
+ paint brush
1. For the first canvas I went with something obvious and wrote the word “Sparkle” on it. I know, I’m so clever. After I wrote it out, I traced the first two letters with modge podge, using the paint brush.
3. I then sprinkled (generously) some glitter over the letters that I had just traced with modge podge.
That is about it! For the footprint I just painted the bottom of Evie’s foot with modge podge, planted it on the canvas, and then sprinkled with glitter.
The great thing about this is that if you don’t like the shape of whatever of the modge podge/ glitter design you can just rinse it off in the sink (don’t wait more than a few minutes to do this). I did this with Evie’s footprints, since it smeared on the second one I tried to do.
I also thought it might be cool to do a chevron pattern, with the help of a little ruler or stencil!
